Our story
Not a tour. An invitation.
About us
Summers in Lebanon, a semester abroad in Istanbul, work trips to Turkey. Wherever I went, the magic came from the people I happened to know. A family that taught me their recipes. A shop owner who poured the coffee and stayed to tell its story. An afternoon learning a craft from someone who had spent a lifetime perfecting it. None of it was for tourists. It was an invitation into someone's world.
I always wondered how anyone without those connections could find their way in.
Village Voyages is the answer. It is for travelers who are done with experiences labeled "local" that are really run by big companies. For the ones who would rather skip the guide with the umbrella and the crowd trailing behind. For the people who want to truly know a place by knowing its people, their stories, and their traditions.
We work directly with local hosts to open these doors for you, whether that means learning a craft passed down for generations, cooking traditional dishes, or stepping into a tradition few outsiders ever see. Every journey is a chance to experience the real side of the Middle East, the warm and welcoming one that rarely makes the headlines.
Hoş geldiniz, Ahlan w Sahlan, we're delighted to have you.
The story behind our name
The name "Village Voyages" reflects both the essence of our experiences and the values we hold dear. Some of our offerings take place in villages nestled outside major cities, where travelers can escape the hustle and bustle to connect with local traditions and unique ways of life. However, the concept of "village" goes beyond geography; it's about fostering a sense of belonging and warmth. Through our carefully curated experiences, we aim to make even the most bustling city feel as welcoming and intimate as a close-knit community.
At Village Voyages, every journey is a chance to connect with people, places, and cultures in a way that makes the world feel a little more connected.
Our impact
Tourism that gives more than it takes.
Real cultural exchange
We swap selfie spots for shared meals, and itineraries for conversation. Both sides leave changed.
Economic benefit stays local
We work with neighborhood-scale partners, not large operators, so value circulates in the community.
